  • How to discuss digital safety with your child – This month the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction created a two-page document on digital safety and cyberbullying. “What occurred in Marysville … was a tragedy,” State Superintendent Randy Dorn said. “Making sure it never happens again is a goal we all share. With that in mind, I offer some tips in the hope that future tragedies can be prevented.” Dorn also stressed the importance of watching for warning signs, understanding the role of social media in students’ lives, and providing a safe place for students to talk about their concerns. Please use this tip sheet in discussions with your children, and share it with other families. Additional resources from the BISD Technology Department are available under the "For Families" and "For Students" tabs.
