Five

Welcome to the 5th Grade!

The library program for the 5th grade begins with "Library Bootcamp," which is a full day of library and information activities.  Students become familiar with the library on this day as well as talk about evaluating information and information privacy.  Students continue work on their information skills through completing projects as a part of the classroom curriculum.  Important projects for 5th graders can include: Explorers of the New World, Science Fair, and "Loyalists vs. Colonists: You Decide."

While students do not have a regularly scheduled library visit, students are encouraged to visit often.  Students can come to the library before school from 8:25 to 8:40, at lunch recess and whenever their teacher can allow them to visit.  Classroom silent reading time is a great time to come to the library.
